Make learning to swim fun with this Stearns Puddle Jumper mermaid life jacket. This project involved character development, pattern and silk screen graphic work for a girl's puddle jumper. Puddle Jumper is known for its cute, fun, and bright colors that get kids excited to swim and give them confidence in the water.
Character development vector artwork created in Adobe Illustrator. Sketches done by hand in ink and watercolor, as well as digitally in Sketchbook Pro.
SPEC CREATION
2D flats were made of the Puddle Jumper to scale for placing repeat patterns and the main panel artwork. A repeat dot pattern was created on top of the coral to reduce the amount of ink applied to avoid potential flaking/chipping in the artwork.
Working closely with Engineering and the technical print team helped bring the finished product to life. Several sample reviews were held to ensure the original design intent, as well as approve color and overall print quality.
