The Caterpillar’s Day at the Park Bouncer™ from Baby Einstein™ makes baby cozy in a deep, cradling seat with mesh side panels for extra comfort. The removable toy bar includes some of baby's favorite Baby Einstein characters like Red Bird, Caterpillar and more with bead chaser, pull and spin discovery paddles featuring real-life imagery.
Cradling
The inspiration for this project derived mainly from the cradling motion between parents and their child and wanting to bring that same feeling into a baby bouncer. The cut and sew was designed to give more visibility of baby to parents with the large mesh window panels, as well as allow baby to see the world around them.
Sketch exploration on the wire frame, plastic bridge panel, cut and sew, and toy bar connection were done both by hand and in Sketchbook Pro.
Several 3D printed models were created to test scale, ergonomics, and overall usability before having prototypes made for fit tests conducted in house.

The entire frame platform including the main wire frame, vibe unit, control interface, toy bar connection, cut and sew, and plastic bridge panel is currently being used as the main Opening Price Point bouncer frame for brands such as Baby Einstein, Bright Starts and Disney with updated toys, toy bars and surface and trend pattern design.
